Abstract

Borok Geophysical Observatory IPE RAS (http://wwwbrk.adm.yar.ru) was established in 1957, by preparation for the International Geophysical Year. Perfect conditions for carrying out of precision magnetic measurements make it a central experimental base of the Shmidt's Institute of Physics of the Earth. Now observatory makes a full spectrum of geomagnetic measurements, as well as measurements of telluric currents, aeroelectric and meteorological parameters. The observatory participates in the internationa l networks of geomagnetic stations SAMNET (http://www.dcs.lancs.ac.uk/iono/samnet) and INTERMAGNET (http://www.intermagnet.org). During last decade with support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Researc hes (grants 99-07-90106, 02-07-90107, 05-07-90262), information technologies take root in observatory. Registration of all measured fields is carried out by the digital data logging systems through the local data logging network. The database of mid-latitude Borok Geophysical Observatory (http://geobrk.adm.yar.ru:1352), providing the access to the data of geophysical observations via the Internet, is created.
