IST4Balt interactive training course on FP7

Abstract

The IST4Balt training course "The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities (2007–2013)" was developed in the frame of the European Union's FP6 project "Information Society Technologies Promotion in Baltic States (IST4Balt)." Preparation of the training course on FP7 was based on the experience gained in preparation of the previous training course "The Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) of the European Community for research, technological development and demonstration activities, contributing to the creation of the European Research Area and to innovation (2002 to 2006) and its Information Society Technologies (IST) Priority." The training course is devoted to:

– European Research Area (ERA), EU Research Framework Programmes (FPs);

– FP7 goals, structure, specific programmes, budget;

– Rules for Participation (RFP) in FP7, funding schemes, research themes, calls for proposals, preparation and submission of proposals;

– Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) theme of the FP7, ICT Work Programme and challenges, participation in FP7 ICT.

The training course consists of the following components:

– Lectures:

* Texts (Adobe PDF),

* Web-based interactive presentations (Macromedia Flash);

– Questionnaires:

* Pre-course questionnaire,

* Post-course questionnaire;

– Glossary.

The course includes four lectures:

– Understanding FP7;

– FP7 activities;

– Participate in FP7;

– ICT in FP7.
