Eric Kihn, David Clark

National Geophysical Data Center, Boulder, USA

Abstract

Founded in the original IGY the World Data Centers (WDC) continue to provide a robust exchange method for scientific geophysical data among nations. Since the advent of the internet however many changes to both mechanism and types of exchanges have occurred. The electronic geophysical year eGY provides an opportunity to align WDC long term goals and objectives with the more modern opportunities available. This talk will focus on changes the WDC system will undergo in the eGY and the coordination between the two projects.
